Hi,
I thought I'd post to see if there was any interest in a meet up in Cambridge for either later this year or early in 2016. I have been speaking to the curator of the Cambridge computer museum and we wondered if it would have interest. There would be a competition on the night and we would theme the arcade cabs and consoles and computers to shmups.
Please let me know and I'll try to help plan this in.
Would be great to meet some of you shmup gurus!
Thanks.

Re: Shmup meet Cambridge UK
I'd have some interest in this. I've actually been there when a Smash Bros tournament was hosted and they have the goods; an impressive range of consoles and old home computers, some of which I hadn't heard of before. Think I tried Blazing Star on neogeo while there.
The UK scene are rather enamoured with arcade tech, do you have any cabinets or boards? Also are you associated with the place?
Cheers!

I'd definitelt be interested in this, I'm in Northampton so it's not that far from me. Just say the word and I'll pop down.

Bedford guy here. Would be interested in the right day. 2016 better for me as my 2015 holiday entitlement is used up and I work shifts (weekends).
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Any word on this? I now live in Cambridge and have yet to go to the computer museum despite it being 13 minutes from my flat. I'd better get on that...

Any 2D action happening in Cambridge this year? I can cycle over there pretty easy once the weather eases off a bit.

The thought never crossed my mind when I was living in Cambridge but it would be cool to have some decent Shmup meetups UK wise.
I think the closest we got was Replay but most of the action took place not actually at the event as it was and they had only two candy cabs last time I went - not worth me flying in for that, but it was really good when it first started out with loads of candy cabs.
I used to spend a lot of time in London at the Casino but not been since 2013 I think.

Just to register my interest again, I'd be up for a Midlands meet. I do run a games night in Northampton which regularly features shmups, could do something here.
