October 10th - 12th, starts at 1PM
Sup sup folks! I am pleased to announce this year's Chicagoland shmups meetup will be held at Galloping Ghost Arcade(GGA) in Brookfield, IL on October 10th to the 12th. We're going to be hanging out in the console room close proximity to the arcade giving us the best of both worlds!
COST?!?!
Yes, I'm afraid this meetup will cost a few bucks or so. Galloping Ghost has $15 all day access to their facilities (arcade, gaming room and such), which means $45 out of your pocket if you're planning to attend the whole weekend.
Hospitality
Currently I have Zerst, possibly his roommate, and drunkninja24 booked at Western Inn. I may book another room if we need to, but people are welcome to offer their place to stay for this whole weekend. Unfortunately I can't bring beer or alcohol to GGA
But there's always a bar or restaurant across the street. (yes gunbird, we can continue the tradition of taking your "caravan" caravan to grab some deep dish pizza at Giordano's. Only few miles away!)
Arcade Scoring Tourney Format
* All day Saturday you can play to get the best score on a pre-selected shmups that will be revealed the day before the meetup
* One credit only per run
* Top 3 wins prizes
* You're free to play on either 1P or 2P

* Every round each player switch side
* Can choose any character in the game
* Can choose any compatible Dreamcast controller

Yes, you heard that right! We have the ability to livestream this meetup. I have some ideas what video feed we're going to stream, but you guys are more than welcome to make suggestions.
Planning to stream live feed from my Astro Cab as well as setup a microphone in the room for some room audio feedback. Maybe have commentary for the hell of it.
