I'll try to go. There's a small chance I have work on either day, but my more senior coworkers usually can make do without me. Also, I'll reach out to Nate and one other guy about their availabilities.

I can pull off a crappy 1cc-of-the-day with ESPrade if needed. (:

Question: Did anyone pull off a Battle Garegga 1cc in any Norcal meet yet? I've done it only once outside of a meet, but I can give it another go just to say we did.

Oh yeah, forgot my preferred day: Saturday the 18th. I'm still open for the 19th, though.

The pizza was good the last time around, so I can chip in for that.

I have a 30-inch-tall stool that I can bring (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0042UTPGY). I don't know whether it'll be too tall for anything, though.

Totally going, provided finances are sufficiently stable. I'll probably go either Saturday afternoon or Sunday.

Not sure what I'll bring, probably something really weird.

Dave - that's Naomi right? I have a Naomi so you can just bring the cart if you want. I have a Capcom I/O as well.

The Sky Target panel came in and it looks suitable for Solar Assault.
It's a Happ stick with 2 trigger buttons - I can wire these for shot and missile.
There's an amp board so I should be able to adjust it to the full analog range.
There's two buttons on the left side of the panel, I should be able to wire these
for Start and Power up, which is all the buttons necessary.

I should be able to make it either day. If there's interest I could bring a IIDX setup (just a PC, not a real machine lol) assuming I can fix my controller in time. Let me know if I'd need to bring a monitor as well (all I have is a 23" though, and I have no speakers).

I haven't played a shmup in forever so I kind of want to practice a bit lol :c

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the responses.
I think there's a slight preference for Sunday but I might be doing both days,
Saturday being just be a dry run / finishing setup day. Still room for a few more slots.

I think I'm good on the monitor front, just need a couple of seats
and maybe a foam cooler or something to keep drinks in. I do have
a mini fridge for drinks but it would be good to have some extra capacity.

I have some sodas and waters stocked already,
but if you want something in particular please bring it!

Cool, alamone, let me know whether you're certain you'll do both days, and I'll plan to be there for both. Nate and my other guest haven't replied to my invitations yet, though.

I still haven't cleared Battle Garegga over the last month. I'd have to be pretty lucky with the attack selection from Black Heart MK2 and Glow Squid to have a shot.

Update! Solar Assault is working with the Sky Target panel. However the analog control is a little finicky on the X axis,
maybe the pot amplifier board needs to be replaced. I still was able to get to Stage 3 on one credit, so it should still be playable.

I've pretty much finalized the line-up so now it's just a matter of finishing the remaining setups
and getting the capture setup going for the cab. These might be deferred until Saturday.

Second update! Reseated the X-axis pot on the joystick and the weirdness with the X-axis is gone on Solar Assault.
Not sure what it was, maybe excess grease or dirt buildup.

Anyway, will be sending out invites in a few days.
I think most of you are repeat visitors so you already know where I'm at, though.

Recca is hard enough you had to put it on a tiny screen?

Looking forward to this one, especially the setup on your streaming cab (which I assume will be the exceleena?)

Argh, I want to go to this bad but my schedule won't permit it...Am hoping you'll have your streaming cab on twitch.tv and I can come in and chat with shmup attendees.

Maybe video courtesy of Aru-san and/or gs68?

Cheers,

Yes, the Namco cab (vert) will be the streaming cab, assuming I build the JAMMA passthru thing on time.
Of course since it's a JAMMA passthru I can easily move it over to the Egret II as well.

The plan is to stream on my twitch.tv account. Once I have things more setup I'll post more info.

I haven't heard from aru-san or gs68 yet.

Invites have been sent.
Still some open slots left if anyone is in the area.

Sadly the 19th is the one day I'm totally unavailable this month. I might be able to make it for Saturday, but that's looking iffy too. arghghgh

I'd like to place a last-minute RSVP for me, gs68, and Kitaru. Might even bring my own laptop for the sake of security cam stream, but only if it's alright with you, Alamone.

I haven't heard from Nate or my other guest yet, so anyone can take their slot if needed.

I cleared Battle Garegga once this month now, bringing the probability of me clearing it during the meet from 0.5% to 1.0%. (:

I wonder whether there will be enough bandwidth to handle two streams at a high-enough quality.

I just did a speedtest

11.5 Mbps up, should be enough for one good stream or two ok streams

Okay, I'll probably be in the "ok stream" part since it's just a measly security cam stream anyways. Might also bring a USB microphone or something for whatever reason.

Security cam stream'll be located at http://www.twitch.tv/azumayaaru.

Update: Capture passthru is mostly working, but it does not work on my laptop's expresscard USB3.0 adapter,
so I will need to setup my mini-ITX rig for capture duties. I also need to do some minor adjustments (too bright,
needs in-line resistors on the capture side), wire the 1P side controls through (2P side is done),
and convert audio to line-level for capture. Also need to setup the mics and the audio mixer.

Edit: Nevermind, it does work on my laptop, I had to disable the automatic scaling (which was enabled by default).
I'm guessing the automatic scaling made the image too big and the bandwidth requirement too high.

Hopefully I can get the Touhous and some other games installed before Sunday, it only has like 3 games on it right now.
