MD/VA/DC Shmupmeet Spring 2013

Well, It's been a good month and a half since Magfest and I figured I'd throw this up to establish a good date for our next local meet-up. Recent acquisitions were a Strikers 1945 Part II PCB (thanks Psikyo for making your PCBs rotate to the right... really goes great with all of my left-rotated TVs) and Ginga Force. Wasn't sure if March or April would best for you guys. Let me know what dates you guys have free.

So far it looks like I'm unavailable on the weekend of March 23 (PAX East) and April 20 (T-Mode).

Do we want to wait until April 27 to possibly give Caladrius a shot?

Ate at Iron Age last week, a Korean BBQ place (the style where everything is cooked at the table). Pretty good but at one point at the night the K-Pop music video loop got turned up reeeeaal loud. It's on 355 basically across the street from Temari.

We're always interested in meeting new locals. Minzoku and I live in Gaithersburg, so that should give you an idea of your drive time (depending on where you're coming from). Bring you favourite gamepad(s) and/or joystick(s). I have a whole slew of consoles as well as 6 TVs to hook stuff up to (2 are dedicated tate).

Granted we still need to lock down a date. I take it that everyone wants to shoot for the 27th of April?

I'm in Odenton, so it shouldn't be that far. I just modded my arcade stick with a PS360+ so I can bring that and various cables/converters. Hopefully my PSX>Saturn one arrives soon.

If NCSX ship Caladrius on time, I'll have it on Friday.. if not, then I doubt any of us will have it (guess it would depend on what kind of shipping you guys are getting through AmiAmi or Play-Asia and what have you).

I do own a supergun, no need to have a second one.. certainly bring your favourite sticks and/or pads. And I already have 6 screens (technically 7 with my old Trinitron VGA monitor)... so I think we're good on that front (my basement isn't that large).

Two of my 360 sticks have LS-32s in them. The EX-SE has the snap-in (perfectly flat) buttons while the MadCatz SE has screw-in (convex) buttons right now. I'll bring both.
