Waterloo Ontario SHMUPMEET Sat July 25th ~MASK LABEL~

Post by colour_thief »

Kind of a last minute thing, but Moh and Njiska and I are planning on shooting stuff this Friday September 14th. It'll start around 6pm and go on, presumably, until we run out of bullets. Just thought I'd send out a general invite in case people are interested.

PM me for address info etc. I'm located roughly in the Conestoga Mall area.

Oh cool, something that's even closer to me than the Toronto meets. Anything you want people to bring like extra consoles or something?

oh fuck it's a friday, I'd be there around 7:30 most likely then, maybe 8 :(

I would totally go (and even give some peeps a life), but I'm getting married on Sunday and of course there's lots of last-minute stuff.

Have fun though!

If enough people are coming to fill 2 X360s, I could use a second X360 VGA cable.

Oh and if randomly someone has a WonderSwan and Judgement Silversword, I'd be interested in trying the original after having sunk time into the port. And the Genesis has tons of great games (Contra Hard Corps!) that I haven't seen enough of and would love to play.

I think I only have an Xbox 360 component TV cable, not a VGA one. I might have one stashed away somewhere though, I'd have to check. Sadly I don't have a Genesis or I'd be all over playing something like Hard Corps or Gunstar Heroes/Gauntlet IV.

This should be fun since I haven't been able to make it to the TO meets. Bloody life and such.

You may want to ping Maxlords and see if he's free, as he's not too far away.

Ok so so far it looks to be me, moh, nijska, and BareknuckleRoo + 1 or 2 friends. A good group. :D

I just set everything up... 1 arcade machine, 1 main TV, and 1 smaller TATE'd TV. It sounded like a freakin' arcade. Should be good! Get hype for shmupmeet!

No one coming happens to have a Konami to JAMMA do they? I realize this is a bit of a wild stab in the dark.

Almost as much as I now hate Drum, but I have a Time Pilot board that I've owned for three years and never had a chance to test it. And to be fair Time Pilot is not a typical Konami shooting game.

well since you have the board, you may as well buy a converter board. or if you dont want to spend $25, you could wire it yourself for dirt cheap :D

I could even wire you up a converter board if you want :)

It's less a question of want and more a question of will. Until I get around to buying a cab or supergun there isn't much of a point. I just like to ask when meeting new cab owners, just on the off chance I can make sure my $23 PCB works.

This one of those private clubs that gets raided every other month? Because they're the fun ones.

So should I be bringing my SFIV TE stick and are there any JP Xbox games I should bring? Not sure what titles are on hand.

Anyone else have a X360 VGA cable? We'll be down a gaming station without one. :( If someone were to do a quick stop at futureshop to pick one up, I'd reimburse them.

I've got J360 pretty well covered in terms of library, and have 2 TE sticks. Unless yours has a Seimitsu stick swapped in or we get another VGA cable, a 3rd stick wouldn't get any use.

Incidentally, I could sell you my old homemade supergun if you're interested. It's an... interesting design. You'll see what I mean.

I'll bring my VGA cable. Need to run by the bank so i'll probably be there for like 6:15.

I'd love to play shmups if Silent Hill didn't own me for the immediate future. May spend some time working on a Mushi Futari 1CC though.

I've got to remember to bring my Hori pad next time so I don't look like such a chump at Futari (I swear my D-Pad feels less floaty). That or get used to actually playing on stick.
