Summer 2012 MD/VA/DC area Shmupmeet (June 9th)

It's about that time once again, guys. Mushi HD comes out at the end of this month so we'll have something "new" to play. So I guess June 2nd or 9th would be good days to hold our next meet. Let me know what works for everyone and we'll plan accordingly.

If you're jokingly referring to La Tasca ... actually went there not too long ago and man, it's even worse than I remember. But right next door, La Canela is fucking amazing. Unfortunately that's also Peruvian so I guess we can't do that! :I

So are there any genres left in the area we haven't tried? Did we do Burgers yet? I still don't know any Ethiopian place.

I was joking about GGX2:AC+HDR, who knows when the hell it will hit. What do you bet it manages to hit AFTER P4U?

Oh yeah, was there some reason I hated Akai Katana's Shin mode? I remember not liking it but I can't remember why. I think there is a US release soon or something.

I actually thought he was making a subtle jab at Joe's Crab Shack.

GGX2:AC+HDR will probably release around the same time as Dust: An Elysian Tale.. you know.. whenever the hell that is.

I think what annoyed you about Shin mode (as it does me) was the inherent input lag. And you'll be able to 'enjoy' it all again next week.

So I guess we'll be aiming for the 9th.

Sorry I'm late to the party, I forget to look for the new thread.

There's an African place near the house [Olde Towne], not sure how it is. Failing that, Growler's is literally a block down the street from there. Or the already-suggested Roy's Place [read the menu before coming to the Shmupmeet]

I also joked with Kiken that we could go to Hibachi Sushi Supreme Buffet and clean them out--there are a few buffet-busters in the group, aren't there? [me one of them]

I haven't heard anything vaguely good about that African place (I think it's called Rainbow?). Growlers is ... okay? They changed chefs recently and the food has gotten a little better. The beer is still generally in the same place it always was, okay quality but almost always under-carbonated.

I actually don't like Sushi myself.

I keep forgetting about this thread. I remember the meets but I forget the threads. Anyway I'm always up for a burger and a beer, unless it was already done when I wasn't around.

The only thing I've ever heard about it was from a friend of mine who said he used to go there as a kid. And something about fried chicken? I'll ask him about it later. :I


We did Dogfish for Burger+Beer sort of. I noticed over by the Rio, there's apparently a Nando's, and a Burger Joint is opening there (not sure when though, last news I could find said "end of 2011" and is sure wasn't open when we went to see The Raid there last month).

In other food news, was at La Canela last night and saw that a new bar opened right across the street. A place for craft brews would be awesome in Rockville Town Center, let me just take a look at what's on drahttp://www.barlouieamerica.com/drink/louies-brews.aspx
