Are there ANY arcades in the Netherlands besides in Scheveningen?
Get your arcade rush in in Scheveningen. Haven't been there in years though. Arcades are forbidden in The netherlands it seems. Even in The Capital. There isn't a single machine to be found anywere. Besides in a few coffeeshops (yes coffeeshops) out of the centre of Amsterdam.
I know. born and raised.

TNT,
I live in Almere we got an arcade too full of Sega stuff!
no fighters though no shmups. probably not a single traditional jamma pvb in the whole arcade. just lots of naomis, etc.
Not an awfull lot of dutch shmup fans here
If it ever happens, I might be interested. I live in Groningen.
We had a pretty good arcade over here as well. But most videogames are replaced with slot-machines. I guess gambling-addicts bring in more money...
I can bring to the table: most Saturn, Dreamcast and PS2 shmups...

never seen one, the one in scheveningen has a Capcom classics machine tho that has Varth (EXCELLENT game!), prehistoric isle, carrier airwing ad a couple of others on it, fairly decent arcade actually however its badly plagued by "touch-and-play" machines, went there this summer..D wrote:Are there ANY arcades in the Netherlands besides in Scheveningen?

No, I'm here.Last Guardian wrote:Well D, you still up for it or did you forget you ever starting this thread (most likely)
Wait, ...and it will come.
It's not going to be this month or next month though.
I got a new job starting in december and alot of other things happ'nin.
So let's discuss what we'll be doing.
Contests?
Not that I am super good, but it would be fun I think.
So how do we do this?
most points?
Or who can survive the longest on the craziest hardest settings?
1 life, no bombs, super hard second loop difficulties?
I guess everybody brings all of their shit and we just discuss and stuff.
If anybody got any other ideas what we could do let us know!

Don't wanna plan to far in advance, just hope to see and try out some shmup surprises from the other visiting members.
We probably should arrange for some extra tateable TV's/cables.
Damn, now there's the added pressure of making it something really worthwile for our Belgian quest
