Sunday is the easiest for me to schedule, but we could set it up for whenever.

I've missed out on this thread despite having lived in College Station for several years now....

I'm heading to UFO arcade in Austin on Friday with my brother to show him the wonder of an actual shmup arcade machine. I experienced it for the first time a few weeks ago when I was around for SxSW. I'm hoping to throw at least 10$ into Daifukkatsu.

Yep, short notice, but I suppose this is better than not posting :).

That would be awesome. Def bring some of your stuff down.

I'm focusing on Saturn and Dreamcast, but it would be a treat to have some variety.

I have plenty of shmuppy arcade PCBs if someone has a supergun to play them on. I *might* be able to wrestle up a supergun...

PCBs:
Rayforce
1943
Fire Shark
Armed Police Batrider
Mahou Daisakusen
Strikers 1945 II
DoDonPachi: Daioujou

I don't have much in way of DC and Saturn, but I do have an X68000 which has loads of shmups.

That's perfect.

We are hoping to have at least two CRTs, one dedicated TATE.

I'm bringing:

Saturn:
-Battle Garegga
-Salamander Deluxe Pack
-Galactic Attack
-Batsugun
-Thunder Force Gold Pack 2

Dreamcast:
-Gigawing 2
-Zero Gunner 2
-Gunbird 2

ok, I am in. What time are we starting? The earlier the better, since I won't be staying super late.

I am going to try and borrow a supergun. Obviously, these PCBs require tate, but you said a tate monitor will be there.

The X68000 requires a CRT PC monitor. If someone is willing to bring one, I will bring the X68000 :)

We will start at 1pm and run through 5pm. It's a retail store, so I want to give them enough time to open before we set up, and enough time for us to clean up at the end of the meet.

The dedicated TATE set will be a late 90s model Trinitron (not a PVM). As long as you can output in S-Video (or composite, LOL), you shouldn't have any problems. Unfortunately, obtaining the set for the meet all hinges on the owner's family visiting. He is also bringing a dell IPS monitor (LCD).

I will see what I can do about a PC CRT monitor. Hell, I might just grab one off Craig's closer to the meet if I have to.

Cool! The X68000 is like setting up a full 90's-era desktop PC.

Keyboard, mouse, CRT monitor, speakers, etc... It's not very mobile!

So as long as there is a place to set it up. I will bring it :).

I am trying to line up a supergun.

I am going to bow out for Sunday.

The weather is supposed to be nasty and icy.

Plus, I would spend more time in the car than I would actually gaming.

Yeah be safe. I wouldn't feel right if you drove down here. It's pretty bad on the roads tonight even. We'll do this again in the near future.

The meet is still a go for locals who can safely make it out. As long as the roads don't ice, I will be there!

I am bringing some non-shmups like beat em ups and run n guns to fill things out. Should be plenty of variety.

I'm a new member and I'm based in Austin..

I'm a regular at Pinballz but hardly ever go to UFO.. I prefer console and MAME gaming over hanging out at UFO.. But I sure miss Le Fun on Guadalupe..

I would be interested in joining a future meetup, so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.
