Wow, my last post in here was just under 3 years ago, how time flies...

Thanks to Masamune for the pictures and updates, we were just passing by

Apparently this happened last year April right in front of him while he was walking to the bank

Yup, the arcade closed 8 years ago. Feels like yesterday.

That's awesome! I should be taking a holiday in Hong Kong Phooey next year. See you there, if not in London.

Was gonna say the same thing with HOG.

Mark Starkey wants to relocate back to London Central or would be amazing if he could get a space at 02 or Stratford maybe but prices would be insane.

If you’re into rhythm gaming both Las Vegas and Vega are worth your attention. Las Vegas has more non-rhythm games which is great (iirc fighting and light gun), but I find them quite crowded and noisy for rhythm stuff. They also lack my game of choice which Vega has - I largely ignore LV because of that. But LV is definitely worth popping into if you’re in Soho - I always stopped by when I was in the area.

Neither has shmups on offer - LV used to have Espgaluda II and Gunbird 2 but that was 2+ years ago at this point. HOG will be your only option there.

I'm 0% into rhythm games. Maybe even less. I'm into classic arcade games - shooters, platformers, etc., as well as pinball.
I'm interested in a cool place to hang out with a nice atmosphere, moreso than the access to play video games. Maybe even a bar.

Though, if any place has a Wangan Midnight game, that's one I've been wanting to try out for years.

Unfortunately Sumez, all the Central London places to hang out have been removed. Like CStarFlare says, Las Vegas 'had' some shooters but they're gone now. :?

The Old Mills - Hope Starkey relocates, but like you say - the prices would be prohibitive.

Sumez - You could try this though. I went there a few years ago. Seems like its still around: https://namcofunscape.com/london

Dam, just as I decide to get into shmups, everything has closed, been in london 6 years but only recently decided to get really into shmups, this seems pretty grim.

(Looks like I need to head down to HOG.)

JDE and I will be down at HoG on Saturday installing a demo version of our new game - Star Hunter. It will be in a cab for a couple of weeks if anyone wants a play.
I'll be starting a thread about the game soon, this is just an early playtest version.

It would be good if you can make it down. We will probably be there until late. I haven't been for a while and I think Mark has a ton of new games set up. If you're coming to London HoG is about as good as it gets in terms of an arcade for this old city.

Whoo, seems there's a Primark at the very same location, which means it's very easy to convince my girlfriend to go there, giving me a place to park her. :P
Unless we're too tired from travelling I'll definitely be there tomorrow and check out your game!

EDIT: Oh crap, HoG closes at 5pm?

It was very cool to see! I'm glad I was able to catch it while I was here. Your game was a lot better than I even expected it to be. Super addictive! People have a lot to look forward to IMO :)

I think this might actually be my first time running into anyone from this forum out and about.
