London Casino Crew meets (RIP the Arcade)
Re: London Casino Crew meets (RIP the Arcade)
I should have paid a visit to HeartOfGaming instead of LasVagas. Both joysticks on Gunbird and Raiden cabs were sh*t (no diagonal control on Gunbird cab and sh*t diagonal control on Raiden 2 cab). Senior member of staff saying that they are awaiting parts for new joysticks. Doubt will happen anytime soon.
Re: London Casino Crew meets (RIP the Arcade)
Plus they need to put much newer games in those cabs.

I was told that Gunbird 2 is coming soon...DEL wrote:Plus they need to put much newer games in those cabs.

Amazed you didn't cry like girl CHI, doing that ALS ICE BUCKET Challenge.
Well done for keeping together and not running away like everyone else.

The ALS Founder joined the 27 Club.

Not surprising considering the motley crew involved in the thing: Oprah, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Lady Gaga, Charlie Sheen, George Bush.

Well done for taking the ice bucket challenge like a man, Chi!
Sad news about Corey Griffin passing away though, 27 is too young.

Bah, can't make this one! =/
Maybe it's worth getting hold of Mark to see if they've got shmups running after the flooding problems.

Re: London Casino Crew meets (RIP the Arcade)
Blinge - They had the left side going with all the Naomi games. There were problems with the Naomi speakers though, despite Starkey putting in a new gizmo to fix them.
Right side - currently I dunno? But most likely OK.
Someone needs to remind Starkey to keep that cab housing the X360. It was very useful.

Anyone in UK got this title apart from Dharnesh (ARM). Second loop V-V version at Casino Arcade.

Forgot how frantic this game was back then, plus this version has the bomb option which was not available on the version I played. I just had the shield option on standby.

I believe that is Grind Stormer, hence the bombs...Mills wrote:Anyone in UK got this title apart from Dharnesh (ARM). Second loop V-V version at Casino Arcade.

The one we used to play back in LV was V-V, hence the shield...
They're both the same game really, just different power-ups!

I think I can do the 27th. It'll be my last day out before I go back to uni.

Can do, but you'll all have to put up with my octo gate!dan76 wrote:Can someone bring a stick?
Edit: Also, now that we're having regular meets again, how do people feel about having a Game of the Month like we used to at Loading Bar? It won't be the only thing we play of course, but personally I really enjoyed getting to see and learn from the different approaches everyone came up with, and playing for score is always more fun if there's some friendly competition. The HoG have a Japanese Xbox 360 we can bring games for, plus every shmup for the Naomi board, so there's plenty to choose from!
Re: London Casino Crew meets (RIP the Arcade)
LasVagas Arcade has new joysticks and Gunbird 2 and ESP.
Not feeling any gameplay love for ESP and Gunbird-2 is OK. Would rather something better if it is new skool titles or something old skool.

Cool Games at The HoG:
- A JP Xbox 360 with DDP DFK Black Label, which means Ketsuipachi! It's cool to bring your own games for use on this console too.
Literally every Naomi board shmup. Not all set up at once though, so ask if you want a particular game.
Street Fighter II: Rainbow Edition! So broken, yet so beautiful. Zangief's flamethrower kick is killer.
Contra: Evolution, a China-only remake of the original with new characters and weapon switching.
And as of last Saturday, a very special surprise for everyone that helped test Space Moth...

^If anyone has a bit of time, a list of shmups at the HOG would be an interest
