London Casino Crew meets (RIP the Arcade)
Mr HK
Yes DJ Rectal Prolapse that must have been Mr Hong Kong. Usually wears black with an almost curtains hair style. He's very aggressive on the first 3 stages of mush, but strangely crashes and burns on stages 4 and 5. He's getting decent at Pink Sweets now, we tag-teamed a session on friday night.
As for those Casino vert cabs, I sit on one of those brown bins. Not sexy but it works .

Played some Mushi in there last night. Didn't find the cab too bad? (I am quite short though). And you can't complain at 4 credits for £1.
Gotta say I'm not keen on the button layout though. I like to hold down the rapid fire most of the time then 'lean' on the normal shot button for slowing myself down. Seriously cramped my hand up playing it. Would it not be better to swap the bomb and auto fire buttons round? (Just a thought). Also, Ultra has been disabled.

I find the ABC button setup quite comfortable. What really bothers me about that cab - I'm going to repeat myself - is the bad stick. Very bad stick, if it's the same that was there this august
About Ultra: yes, you have to enable it every day for some reason. You can find the code on world of arcades or around here!

I often pop in there on my lunch around 2-3pm and the place is deserted, save for the sound of that ridiculous Pink Sweets music. I'm going to have to come along to that meet-up this month to see some pro's working that game. So far, I'm really not seeing it. It seems so shockingly simplistic compared to every other Cave game. I hope to be proven wrong...

Its really a Raizing game not a Cave game. The remaining Raizing programmer/s are now programming new titles under the Cave logo. If you like Raizing games, you'll probably like Pink Sweets. If you're expecting the usual Cave tight bullet curtain stuff then Ibara and Ibara Sorekara might not be your cup of tea.So far, I'm really not seeing it. Re: !
Yeah, I'm no stranger to the Yagawa developed games. I absolutely love Recca, Garegga, Bakraid, Ibara, etc, but Pink Sweets...
It does use the same rank system, right? Am I right in saying rank increases when you bomb, therefore you end up just using the main shot for everything? I can't see seem to manipulate the Rose Hip pods either. Bah! I guess I'll just have to come down and see how it's done.

I had heard a lot about Casino Arcade so I made sure to stop by there back in May of '07. I don't recall ever seeing games like Mushi Mushi Pork or Pink Sweets though. I did remember seeing CVS2 (sick of that game), Hyper SF2T, and some Pang game. I guess I was into fighters at the time. I was kinda hoping it to be more like Arcade Infinity. Seemed like more of a community that goes to Casino Arcade rather than the general population of London. Although I guess a community-driven arcade is cool too.

Do keep going back... things are always changing there. It's shmup heaven right now.Bonemaster969 wrote:I had heard a lot about Casino Arcade so I made sure to stop by there back in May of '07. It's just the singular "programmer", i.e. Shinobu Yagawa. Pink Sweets was programmed by him and Yuji Inoue (who also helped program Mushihimesama Futari).DEL wrote: The remaining Raizing programmer/s are now programming new titles under the Cave logo.
"A fairly generous opening."
Nicely phrased Spadgy!
I think they're open til ten actually - but yes, they are a bit rude when they want to go home.

They close at 11pm, sometimes 11.30pm.

Didn't spot my own crude terminology! As a fan of cheap innuendo I'm disappointed in myself. I guess they have to... er... force people out at the end of a session, otherwise we'd all be..well... at it all night.Skykid wrote:"A fairly generous opening."

Anyway - Bonemaster969, are you sure you have the right place? Staying open from morning until 11pm does give a gaping wide slot in which to get in there.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was around 11pm on a Friday or Saturday night. When I had gone there in the daytime (probably around noon) there was barely any people in there, 4 at the most. But when I went at nighttime there was plenty of people. Seems kinda dumb to close an arcade that early when it has a scene. Arcade Infinity stays open till 3am on the weekends from what I remember, and it's going strong all the way till closing.
You need to go there after 5pm on thurs, fri, and sat nights to hook/meet up with the dedicated beat-em-up & shumps players. no one really bothers about saying up really late as we've got better things to do.Bonemaster969 wrote:Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was around 11pm on a Friday or Saturday night. Yeah - I'd love to have time to be there until 3am, but there's socialisng and real people and things like that to do! Also, I think if it opened really late it would spread thin the numbers attending...Mills wrote:You need to go there after 5pm on thurs, fri, and sat nights to hook/meet up with the dedicated beat-em-up & shumps players. no one really bothers about saying up really late as we've got better things to do.Bonemaster969 wrote:Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was around 11pm on a Friday or Saturday night. I popped in a few times this weekend. On Saturday there was a huge protest against the Scientology building next door. For a second I thought thy were protesting against the Casino... very strange indeed. Still I managed to jostle past everyone in the end, and finally got to play ESPGaluda 2 and Pink sweets. While I was having a quick go on Mushihimesama, a group of slightly out of place looking people walked in and walked around. I didn't hear this, but my girlfriend heard a young woman say in a very posh accent "oh look, they have Pink Sweets and Mushihime-SOMA!" Apparently it was comedy gold. I saw her doing a pretty amazing run on PS. Very strange indeed
I only managed to net a measly 11 million on ESP, but I think I'm in love with the game

^I was down the next day. Heard about the Anti Scientology protest - they happen often. A good thing really, I am of course against cults that brainwash you to take your money.
The moment Bob the engineer turns up, Esp II and PS are coming back out to ill6. Should be this weekend.
I have secured Tatsujin Oh from ARC.

I'd better get in their for just a little more ESP II and PS.
I'm there on Thursday from about 6.30pm I think...
The posh-shmup fan sounds quite funny. I guess with Cave stuff being pricey maybe there's more Eton-stock here than we imagine. I never met Mills at the Shmupmeet. Maybe he wears a bowler, carriers a cane and turns up at Casino on horse and cart with loads of bank notes fluttering out the back. I hope so anyway... Of course I'm wrong though - aren't you a Psyiko player anyway? Perhaps they dress like Oliver Twist....
With regard to Scientologists, those types make me mighty angry. I have a morbid fascination with the ludicrously of cults, but in reality they're pretty nasty...
