I posted this on click-stick the other day and only got one response (thanks raptor)...and just wanted post here to get a few more eyeballs...
For those that use Japanese Cabs in the US, do you plug the cab into a 120V->100V step down transformer/converter?
I just got an Astro City cab, and the stickers on the back, and on the monitor both say 100V. But the PSU inside has a sticker that reads "Input 92V-132V". So should I still be concerned with getting a stepdown transformer? Is it only some PSU's in older cabs that can't handel 120V input?

I definately herd of this before on another forum (don't remember which though and can't seem to google/find it). Makes perfect sense to me though, Japan outlets are 100V, US outlets are 120V. You can't run a PSU out of spec for long before it starts having problems. So the question may be, how long before I have to replace the PSU if I continually run it at 120V?dboeren wrote:I have a Taito Egret, and it works fine on US voltage. I've never heard of anyone having to use a converter on their cabinet before.

"small text will be more sharp if you are using 100v"
What the ..? more sharp?
Please clarify Res. The higher the voltage, the blurier the small text?
Someone should make a site like that fake-low res site.
Maybe this is the reason my Jap. Saturn doesn't switch tv's to RGB, because I am using a step down converter from 220 to 110 Volts?
Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself here.
