CPS2 question

Post by footix »

hello,
i just got a progear in a green case, that has weird connectors, i suppose the game is an asian (grey board) in a green case...
could someone confirm that?

thanks...
if this appears to be a grey board, i'll be hunting for a grey motherboard...
regards

Probably an Asia rev in a green box. Of course it could also be a real green one, adapted to work with an Asia motherboard, see if the longer connector appears to have been replaced. Or it could even be a green board that died, and has been resurrected by replacing the motherboard with a spare one from an Asia set.

To be honest, at this point it probably doesn't matter anymore, but you will be needing an asia motherboard.

It definately not a Jananese B board. As the Japanese board got all the connectors at the same length. :o

I've got an Asian/Grey Progear board, and yes that matches my B board connectors. So yes, you will need an Asian A board to play it.

Most seller usually won't sell the A board alone. But last time I was able to find a lone used Japanese A board for US$55 from the an acrade meachine suppler. I am pretty sure that they got Asian A board for sale.

Try eMail Miss Vion Lai of Wai Lee Video Amusement Co. at sales@wailee.com

May be it would be a good idea to purchase an Asian A board together with a B board. :o

I think this is true for HK sellers only. Japan and US-based sellers offer them seperately all the time.

Indeed. Must be some miscommunication or she doesn't want to sell it alone (saving it for a Progear boot?...heh).

That explains it I think. So you bought this Progear from Cosmic? I should've known. Check this.

p.s. On Cosmic's price list, the asterisk next to a game means it's bootleg/non-original.

yes that's it, its not coming from cosmicoo at all, but it's the same piece of mod. no worries at all, i was quite aware it was a boot, but i didn't know it needed an asian mobo... all i had with the game is a blue mobo with glued connectors... piece of shit... that's why 'im looking for a grey mobo ;)

or else, if i can put the game on another b board, using a blue b board as sac for installing the chips on... but i have yet to find a game that has his pals on sockets ^^ i'd be glad to go for that as grey mobo seems impossible to find...
