Dangun Feveron EPROMs

Post by CFO »

I recently got a Fever S.O.S. PCB and I'd like to get the EPROMS replaced for Dangun feveron ones by a place like hobbyroms. I know the cave of shooting site used to have these but I don't know where to find them now. If im getting the eproms replaced do I need to provide a link? If so, does anyone know where I could find them. Thanks.

Depending upon the mod's moods, its against the rules to request, or point to roms. Even though you own the board, and thus legally own the roms. Anyway, I'm sure Steph at hobbyroms can find them for you. :D

First of all, is the board you got an unmodified Fever S.O.S board ? If you
stick in the Japanese ROM's they might not work because the Fever S.O.S
code expects a different EPROM initialization. If you took the Fever ROM's
and inserted them unmodified into a Dangun Feveron they would not
work. With a little help from a friend of mine we patched out this protection
and this is the code which was on the Sheep's site.

We don't know if the Japanese ROM's would work on a Fever S.O.S PCB.

If you have a picture of the PCB I might be able to find out what your PCB originally was.

Undamned sold me a Fever SOS board he dropped Dangun/Japanese roms into before he shipped it to me. Works fine. Might ask him if they were modified roms, but I seem to recall a thread where this was brought up previously; and he said they weren't.

Interesting, Undamned was the gentleman who supplied us with the Fever S.O.S ROM's in the first place. A long time ago :D. Interesting how history repeats itself. So Since this was the original PCB we can safely assume that Dangun Feveron will run instead of a Fever S.O.S but a Fever S.O.S will not run unmodified on a Dangun Feveron. Thanks for this info Zakk.

So Dangun Feveron could be turned into Fever S.O.S.
But Fever S.O.S Could be *NOT* turned into Dangun Feveron

Am I correct? :o
*Meow* I am as serious as a cat could possible be. *Meow*

Not quite...

An original Dangun Feveron PCB cannot use unmodified Fever S.O.S ROMs.

An original Fever S.O.S PCB can use Dangun Feveron ROM's directly.

But, with the patch a Dangun Feveron can use Fever S.O.S
