Best PSTwo modchip?

Post by bigbadboaz »

Hey, with the $129 pricedrop I figure it's time to grab a PSTwo. I need the ability to play imports, but beyond that I'm not into the homebrew/hacking scene to where I would know which modchip I should go with. I gather the DMS4 Pro and Matrix Infinity are the two top choices, but for those of you with more knowledge than I, are there any serious pros/cons to each chip that I ought to consider?

Thanks in advance! :)

i think it only matters if you want to play games off a hard drive.
the DMS4 adds compatibility for lots of games in that case.

if you will just be burning them, it doesn't matter much.

Just this past week, Spec. I was hoping for $99 like everyone else, but at this point I'm just glad it's finally official.

I've been thinking too about getting my slim PS2 modified for imports/backups, but I'm terrible at soldering. Does anyone know the standard price for modchip installations?

I just don't want to get overcharged.
