Arcade cab alteration?

Post by cigsthecat »

If I were to buy an Arkanoid cab how easy do you think it would be to replace the control panel with Japanese sticks for shooters? Now it's just got the control knob thing and a couple of buttons. Vert monitor in nice shape though...

If it's an American style cab, you'll most likely need to do some alterations to the control panel (could require a drill and/or router). Try measuring the mounting points for the knob that's on there now. Also check on the control panel material: wood or metal. With that, we can recommend the proper replacement. Most likely the original JAMMA wiring is there for a standard stick, so no need to mess with that (check on that too, if possible).

p.s. There are a few Japan cabinet dealers in your area. Something like a Sega Aero City goes for $200-300 only. Easy setup!
