Looking for ways to encoded the RGB singal from an PCB?
You could done in the reverse way.

I don't think it's safe nor easy to do.
Converting the RGB singal? No need to do that.

lmn4096 made a thread awhile back detailing his experience with such a project.

Sorry oxtsu, what lmn4096 had done is replace the Chassis of a TV set with a RGB monitor's chassis. That's a completly different idea of what I am talking about here.
*************************
A TV would decoded the Composite, S-Video or Component singal back into RGB, and then generate the screen accordingly.
The idea I am talking about is to disconnect those decoder chips on the orginal chassis and solder some wires to directly feed in your own RGB singal. In order words harking your TV's chassis to accept RGB.

I see. Thanks for clarifying.
Seems mildly neurotic. How about...I don't know... just buying an RGB monitor!? If you have the skills to do such a hack, making cables (the last stumbling block to owning an RGB monitor) should be like pre-school in summertime. Plus guaranteed better picture quality, the whole ball of wax.

That's why I see it as half a jock, note the ( ) in the orginal post.oxtsu wrote:Seems mildly neurotic. How about...I don't know... just buying an RGB monitor!? Well the person who first got the idea even make a switch to reconnect the decoder chips so that he/she could watch TV normally when the RGB in is not in use.
Well I guess, if you could found the DataSheet for the decoder chip of your TV, it might be done easily, since just disconnect the RGB out pins of the chip and replace to with your own.
Sound simple, but I don't think so.
