Image on TV bouncing with RGB connection

Post by ReKleSS »

Apologies for the odd topic... Anyhow, my TV is a Loewe Calida. It's a PAL tv, but supports ntsc just fine. I've got my PS2 connected over SCART. When I try to play DDP DOJ or ESPGaluda (the two published by Arika) in tate or tatehosei mode, the image bounces up and down. It doesn't happen in yoko mode, nor does it happen with the Cave games by Taito, or any other games. I tried my other TV, where there doesn't seem to be a problem.

For now I've gone back to using composite, but is there a cheap way to make this work? I suspect it has something to do with Arika using an odd video mode that my TV doesn't like. I can live with composite, but I'd rather not have to...

As a side note, it's a PAL ps2, booting stuff using a swap magic. Using the PAL mode from the swap magic works fine, but about 1/5th of the screen is left blank. I don't think it's part of the problem.
