Show your Tate setup thats not a cab or arcade machine
it an NEC XM29 Xtra.....has s-video and BNC connections for composite and component....
it also has RGB/VGA connections and runs up to 1280X1024....
pretty amazing screen
and because its totally square, its tates like a dream.....and it even has all the screen adjustments on a remote.....including a degauss button....
doesnt mind being flipped either.....have it tate....turn it off....flip back to yoko....turn it back on.....perfect!!
well worth it if you have the opportunity to pick one up

21" Gateway LCD w/ rotating stand, behind the monitor you can see an Onkyo 100w X 2 amp powering the Polk Audio speakers. DC through VGA, PS2 through Component and MAME. The HRAP2: SA is used for all of those via adapters.
The picture makes the monitor look blurry but it really looks great. NO discernible lag at all. Tested with the Guitar Hero lag calibration thing and I can play Beatmania with zero problem. Plus even though it's a 16:10 monitor it displays all my consoles (through VGA and component) at a 1:1 ratio, so theres no stretching of 4:3 material.
I like it
I was gonna save up for a Supergun, but instead I'm saving for a Candy Cab. I HAVE TO OWN ONE! haha

Yo,
since I am new to this forum, I thought I should give it a shot.
Here is my favorite vertical shmup setup.
Do not be fooled by its retro style appearance - I made it out of real wood and it contains only brand-new components. Here are some more detailed specs:
Display: Hantarex 19 inch, 15-31kHz RGB Multisync TFT (low, mid, high-resolution)
Variable screen orientation (for horizontal or vertical gaming)
Internal JAMMA-compatible interface for arcade PCBs
Controlpanel for one player (includes connector jack for 2nd controller, Neo Geo standard)
Joystick: Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y with bat top or bubble ball
Buttons: Sanwa OBSAK-C30UM (LED-illuminated), 4x action, 1x start
Sound: Canton RS 130 CX, 2-way speaker
Two internal fan-less power supplies (100 to 240 VAC) for TFT and gameboard
Mains switch, mains fuse, 3m detachable power chord
Body: a mixture of lumber and plywood (maple, birch, oak)
Glass: 5mm safety glass
Various finishes: red / black / mahogany
Weight: approx. 20kg
Dimensions (HxWxD): 425mm x 702mm x 702mm
Here is another closeup of the table running a Mushihimesama PCB from Cave:
Pretty girlfriend-compatible design... what do you think?
Since this is my own design, I build one of these once in a while...
Cheers,
Bobby the Bear

Oh, the picture quality is excellent since its an industry TFT with wide viewing angle on all four sides and excellent response time.sven666 wrote:looks excellent mate, very nice craftsmanship and great clean look to it hows the TFT for PCBs, dont you get alot of lag and blur?Bobby the Bear wrote:
On the downside - the price tag for this TFT is not for the faint-hearted...

Okay, here is a closeup (although it's tough to avoid those Moiret patterns from the camera sensor, but anyway...)cools wrote:Any chance of some closeups on the TFT, with a lowres game running?
I hope this works,...

Uhm, I am not sure if I understand the question correctly.Fudoh wrote:That looks good. I assume that's a 240p-patched Mushihime copy, right ?
Let me explain a bit more: The screenshot was taken straight from an original Mushihimesama PCB. The 15kHz videosignal from the PCB feeds directly into the multisync TFT. The TFT will autodetect any signal (15-31kHz) and convert/scale it to full screen.
My cocktail tables are made for PCB-only gaming, there is no PC or emulation involved, I'm sorry.
Though, I have created a small JAMMA interface/supergun/MAK-PCB to allow for easier integration with my table creations (for color adjustment, testbutton and so on...).
Have a look at the picture, please -
you can see the Mushihimesama PCB in the background which is connected to my JAMMA-interface-PCB (in the front).
Cheers,
Bobby the Bear

What brand and model number is your industrial TFT monitor?
And what price did you pay for it?
Sounds like a really nice TFT LCD monitor that can do all kinds of display jobs. I like the little backlit LED push buttons...they give it a cool look when gaming. ^_~
Do you make the the custom cocktail tables to sell to others on a special order basis?
Thanks for your time...
