Candy Cabinet City

Post by stellarola »

Hey everyone. I'm not really sure which forum would be the best to post this in, but I figure it's hardware related. I'm working on a site right now called Candy Cabinet City. I'm trying to document imported japanese candy cabs. I'd really like some help with this, if anyone is interested. Check out my site, see whatcha think about it. http://home.insightbb.com/~ecousticforkris/

Much, much more to come. Including a domain name...

I think it's an exciting site, should be a great info source that I'll benefit from when I'm ready to take the cab plunge myself. Sorry to say I don't have anything to contribute, though.

Shmups only has about 400 active users. Not 400,000 like Ng.com.

Also, alot of interests are shared between here and ng.com and therefore that is another factor.

I'm sure once you get more info on the website it will be as popular as the questions that will get repeatedly asked here about Candy's ;)

Great site, I will check back regularly.
No candies in my posession so I can't contribute.
I do have a square black French Masterplay cab, which for the Netherlands i.m.h.o. is the best way to go for a third party cab.

Good luck

It's official Irem, as far as I know. Don't know if I have any pics of it around, but I tend to save cool pics, when I find them, so I'll see what I can dig up to donate to your site.

Not my site BTW, so you may want to contact the site owner (briggs I believe).

Oxtsu, thankyou for the list! I also renamed minicute to cute and added the first versus city to list. I plan on adding more cabs to the list once I get these first set complete. The list I have on the site is probably some of the most 'popular' imported japanese cabs out there. Also I have a pretty good set of pictures of the ones listed on the site. It's hard to find pictures out there of a lot of these cabs.

Thankyou for the constructive criticism, it helps a lot! :)

I've been doing a lot of work offline. All the links should be active within the next week or so. I'm really looking forward to it, I hope others are. I'm also very interested in articles. If its related to arcade games, hardware, technical, I'll take it. I will give you props for your work, of course.

Cheers!

Some nice guy at neo geo forums uploaded a PDF of the NEW ASTRO CITY service manual in English. I've printed it off and its very very informative and should be considered the holy grail if you have a NAC.
