Sony Trinitron PVM-2950QM

Post by bcass »

Does anyone own one of these? I'm on the lookout for a decent sized PVM and this model seems to crop-up a lot in conversations but am wondering how well it can handle some of the odd refresh rates on some of the arcade cores when using a MiSTer FPGA (e.g slightly under or slightly over 60Hz). I have checked the official documentation (see link below) but couldn't spot anything relevant, or maybe I missed it?

I have a friend who has one, though he currently doesn't have a MiSTer. If the refresh rate is only slightly off-spec, then I don't see why it wouldn't work. Sony monitors shouldn't be too sensitive to the refresh rate. I know the SNES outputs at a slightly high refresh rate, and we've never had issues using that console on any of those monitors.

Should be fine. I have a 2730QM in the basement that's a basically a lower end version and never saw any issues with 15khz signals.
