Extron DVS605 underrated downscaler!

I have been playing with the Extron DVS 605 quite a bit recent. I am suprised, I don't see more on it here. Its basically the older brother of the. DSC301 (same sw) which gets light here, but has a nic which makes uploading custom edid files way easier. I use a github script to conver linux modelines to edid.bin files then upload. I can use the html webpage controls or extron psc app to much easier tweak the control like a gsc. I have created 1920x240p that works great. I not lag tested, but assume would be same as the others comments on the 301. 605 has 2 analog inputs via vga but can take in composite, s, component, rgbs, rgbhv, rgsb, ect. Haven’t had the greatest lick with 240p in on component but that hasn’t been my main use case. It might treat it as 480i. Main main use case have been 720p down to 240p which i got good results. I also use it for 720p to 768p windowed with a scanline generator that works awesome on my plasma, especially nintendo switch. I have tried hard to get 540p and 270p 120hz out of it but my toshhdtv seems to only internally upscale to 1080i. I played with 240p 120hz downscaling but need to do more testing before reporting. I forgot to mention it has 3 hdmi in and both a vga and hdmi out. It has 444 color bit or what ever its called. Any way sorry for such a disorganized post, i just couldn’t internalize my excitement any longer. I hope to have a better post or update here in the future.

So are you able to get 240p out to a low-res monitor? Does it eliminate interlace?

Interesting. I never tried the custom timings on that unit. I see it has frame lock and simultaneous HDMI and analog output.

Yes via component video into a sony fv310. I have not tried a 480i modeline yet.

The INxxxx models, which offer seamless switching have a rather high processing lag. I would have assumed that this one does as well - because of the Picture-in-picture functionality, which requires a synchronizing of both inputs (basically same as a seamless switch does in the background).

Yea i had an anlog in* that i took to good will it was so bad.

I think Toshiba ones I've seen have a toggle in the menu to go between 540p and 1080i, but maybe that's just some of them idk.

Made sure that option is set. Put a vga scanliner and a component transcoder inline of input. I Still cannot get an unscaled image (by tv), no matter which res i send it blurs the black lines from scan liner. 540p, 270p, 1080i nothing is passed through true.
