Some time ago I picked up a Flying Shark board from a forum member, and I found that it doesn't seem to work in my cabinet. Upon finding the manual for the game, I found that it seems to require a minimum of 5 amps on the 5v line from the power supply. I found that my PSU in my cabinet appears to have options for 1 amp, 3 amps and 15 amps, with 3 amps being the current setting. I would assume that the 15 amp option would be able to get this board working, but none of my other boards seem to require this. Before I start messing around with the PSU:
-Would changing to 15 amps get this board to run?
-Would this cause problems with other boards?
Arcade PSU question: Changing amps on the 5V line?
Re: Arcade PSU question: Changing amps on the 5V line?
Don't know, and No, respectively. There's no such thing as too much current, for your PCB, as it will only draw what it needs.Vexorg wrote:-Would changing to 15 amps get this board to run?

undamned's comments...seconded here.
Are you sure this isn't just the rating for the three voltages? Ex: 1amp on -5V, 3amp on +12V, and 15amp on +5V.Vexorg wrote:I found that my PSU in my cabinet appears to have options for 1 amp, 3 amps and 15 amps, with 3 amps being the current setting.
