Methods for modding console sticks w/ incompatible brackets?

Post by BazookaBen »

So I've got this old Tekken 5 PS2 stick from Hori, I want to add a Seimitsu LS-56 but the screw holes don't line up. But they're also close enough that they partially overlap any new screw holes I could drill. The mount is spot welded to the panel.

Anybody have experience with a situation like this?

One method is to drill out the spot welds, remove the mount, then drill holed through the panel and screw in my joystick from the top of the panel. Won't look great but it should do the trick.

One issue with that though is the joystick would be higher, because it wouldn't have the 1cm or so of space that the old mount has. Anybody know if that would feel off in any way?

Have you looked into this?

You remove the original mounting plate from your ls-56 and replace it with this one.

Wouldn't work in my situation because the holes are under the body of the joystick. They're close to, but not exactly lined up with, the screws that go through the gate and switches.
