Neogeo AES RGB Cable

Post by Icelvlan »

Hello,

Looking to purchase Neogeo AES RGB Cables and I think I will get universal AES/CD Retro Access. I see a note at the bottom that they are not compatible with XRGB mini without adapter.

Is there a reason for that? Which adapter is required?

Also, is there a guide somewhere to mod stereo on AES connector and removing composite capability?

It's a SCART cable, and the XRGB Mini Framemeister does not have a SCART input. It requires a SCART-to-XRGB adapter, though the Framemeister is commonly bundled with either a SCART or JP-21 adapter at retail. Be careful, as SCART and JP-21 have an identical connector but use different pinouts.

If you don't already have a Framemeister, you should not buy one now, as they were discontinued some time ago and are currently only available new at extremely inflated prices. There are much better/cheaper options either already on the market (RT2X, OSSC) or coming soon (RT5X, OSSC Pro, PixelFX Morph).

Oh, I didn’t realize they were taking about that adapter.
