Wayland (KMS/DRM) and custom resolutions

Post by Nikoh »

Guys (sorry for my bad english, i am italian.. ) i am trying to set custom resolution (240p) on Wayland to have dual monitor with dual (differents) V-refresh rate (with Xorg i can have jus one/same vertical refresh rate for all monitor... 1 xscreen 1 refresh rate, stop, no way) .
The only way to set custom resolution under Wayland is KMS/DRM then passing a custon EDID as a kernel parameter on boot process.
The big problem is to generate EDID; it seems does not exist an EDID maker/generator.... only commercial products like extron etc.
I found "edid generator master" but is bugged... imho...
Maybe exist an EDID database to download ready EDID for e.g. 240p 640p etc.?
some help?

Ciao Nikoh,

I think you'll find the answers you need in the GroovyMAME/GroovyArcade forums.

You can start from the GroovyArcade ISO and go from there, most of the work has probably already been done for you.

Look in the switchres and collaborative groovyarcade threads, eventually just get the ISO and look what Substring has done and you can replicate that for your goals.
