exA-Arcadia + Vewlix = plug and play?

Post by shmupsrocks »

I'm thinking of getting an exA-Arcadia and Vewlix cabinet based on the recommendations here:

Would that be plug-and-play or is it super fiddly like a supergun + OSSC setup?

Plug and play assuming you get a legit Vewlix.

I just heard back from exA:
The Vewlix cabinet will need to be equipped with a Taito JVS IO board to work with the exA-Arcadia.
exA-Arcadia is not compatible with the Taito proprietary Fast IO board.
Was the Vewlix sometimes sold with a Taito JVS IO board and sometimes not?

The Dia Black/Orange were sold without an I/O, the earlier models came with the JVS I/O from the factory but the Fast I/O is used for Nesica amongst other things so it's now quite common to find them in used Vewlix's from Japan.
