I was reading the extensive post gbs 8200
viewtopic.php?p=1399305
... I delivered use an online translator I do not clarify very well really this does the same thing as an extron emotia or take a 480p selal and convert it into a 240p without lag or delay or has some drawbacks
Is it the same but much cheaper?
Thanks in advance..
gbs 8200 same function as an extron emoria downscaling
Re: gbs 8200 same function as an extron emoria downscaling
I don't have an emotia so don't know how it compares but can confirm this downscales 480i/480p to 240p. Bob form RetroRGB said it was the fastest downscaler available at half a frame of lag.
Re: gbs 8200 same function as an extron emoria downscaling
but Bob doesn't always have the whole spectrum in view. The DVDO iScan units (that are capable of downscaling) are equally fast.Bob from RetroRGB said it was the fastest downscaler available at half a frame of lag.

This is good info, thanks for sharing.Fudoh wrote:but Bob doesn't always have the whole spectrum in view. The DVDO iScan units (that are capable of downscaling) are equally fast.Bob from RetroRGB said it was the fastest downscaler available at half a frame of lag.

I appreciate the responses ...
Could you be more precise for me to understand it?
Is there a half frame of lag with gbs8200, otherwise it does the same (downscaling 480p to 240p) as an emotia, a uvc or a mimo?
Re: gbs 8200 same function as an extron emoria downscaling
in general, yes, that's what it does.
What I don't know: 480p component input works fine (right?), but 480p RGB is still problematic? And I don't know what algorithm is used. Averaging odd and even lines (1+2, ...), averaging even and odd lines (2+3, ...), discarding every other line (like the MIMO) ?

Sorry coming to your discuss, but I have a question.
I'm looking for a downscaler, with output signal in 240p too (as many people .
You talk about DVDO iScan can downscal.
Do you the references of these special units?
In advance, than you!

Check this thread. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=53807
But be aware that only the iScan HD and HD+ will properly perform this task.

Thank you Fudoh,
I'll read, and pay attention for a HD or HD+.
