Hello there,
I was trying to replace C11 on my SFC Jr but ruined the pads while trying to clean them up.
I'm kind of new to soldering so the stakes are high.
Is it even possible to fix?

Best,

PS. I hate myself sometimes. DS.
I ruined my SFC Jr PCB. Is it fixable?

Are you sure it's dead?
If you had the schematics, you could trace what those components connect to next, and solder in some wires instead.

It's not totally dead but video is scrambled.
I found this schematic online but not sure where to put the wire. Between C11 and C10?

I feel certain its fixable, but depending on which pad of C11 has been lifted it may require decent soldering skills to connect to the fine pitched legs of the S-CPUN chip.
No offense intended, but unless you feel very confident/experienced at soldering I think that any further work might just make the situation worse/unrepairable. If you are not confident at soldering then small surface mount work is not a project I would recommend to a beginner. I would recommend lots of practice on old/dead electronics first (Such as old PC motherboards) Once you feel more confident working on old/dead PCB's you could come back to working on this SFC Jr.
Honestly in your position as a relative beginner I would be tempted to recommend sending the console to someone with a lilttle more experience.

Those schematics are not for a 1CHIP motherboard revision, C11 on the 1CHIP is connected to the S-CPUN.Filuren wrote:I found this schematic online but not sure where to put the wire. Between C11 and C10?

Yeah! You're probably right!Link83 wrote:Honestly in your position as a relative beginner I would be tempted to recommend sending the console to someone with a lilttle more experience.
If someone in sweden reads this and want to help out. Don't hesitate to contact me!

The linked image doesn’t work, but lifted pads are no biggie. If you don’t find anyone locally, I am in Denmark, I could have a look at it.
