Seimitsu buttons

Post by GaijinPunch »

Okay, talk to me. There's a lot of info in group order thread, but I'm still a bit lost. I've generally only used Sanwa buttons on my (Agetec) mods, but am pretty happy with the Seimitsu buttons I have in my Sigma Super Pro Stick (image below). I hate "black outline" of the design though - I'd much rather have a solid color. What part number should I be looking for, and will I have any issues putting them in an Agetec over Sanwa buttons?

Well, your on the right track...having perused the Seimitsu Group Order thread.

Solid color and solid color/black trim have the same part numbers. Just be aware of the color selection for the different models, because they are not all the same.

As far as issues installing Seimitsu into an Agetec DC stick (this follows for certain Sanwa buttons as well): two minor issues

1) PS-14-GN, Sanwa OBSN-30 (screw type buttons): the screw ring mount has only a couple millimeters of travel with the Agetec cylinders blocking it. If you want to extend the ring further down the button, the cylinders on the Agetec underside control panel will need to be shaved. I found it unnecessary to shave the cylinders...the buttons hold fine with just one turn of the screw ring, but it's something to consider.

2) PS-14-GX, Sanwa OBSF-30-RG (upper durability switch): Because these button switches are longer than standard, there is very little clearance between them and the Agetec's bottom plate. It will be a tight fit if using quick connects (terminal+sleeves) like coin-op style, but do-able with some bending of the button prongs.

If you like the buttons in your Sigma stick (PS-14-G), then you can get those in solid color, no probs. Or upgrade to the higher durability PS-14-GX.

I'm not using disconnects -- not enough space. I have to bend the terminals for it to all fit, so I just solder straight to the terminal. I know about the shaving down of the metal plate to make them fit (done a few Sanwas) just curious if there's any extra work involved w/ the Seimitsu buttons over the Sanwas (which it sounds like there's not).

valgar: Do you have 6 of the blue ones? What's your asking price?
