Bezel or black bars on EDTV Plasma for retro gaming

Post by mrwasi »

So I'm connecting my PC to a 480p Panasonic plasma EDTV and was wondering if it would be best to add a bezel to retroarch or leave it with black bars to prevent any "burn in". Although I picked up the tv recently and it's pretty old, it has a perfect picture and zero burn in.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I have a 480p plasma from the early 2000's I don't have any burn in at all. I also disabled all burn in reduction features.

Enjoy your TV and don't worry about it.

Having a faux "bezel" of a solid gray color is better than black bars. At least with the grey you get some phosphor wear. Its annoying, but when I play 4:3 on my plasmas I generally alternate from gray bezel for extended gaming to black for less extended sessions.
