TV choice for 1080p

Post by Losty »

1080p counts as retro now, right?

My Sony W905a just bit the dust. From doing a lot of research on various forums I've narrowed my option down to the last HD set that Sony have for sale, the kdl50wf663bu. I've read a lot of information about people running 1080p content (Switch, PS4) through 4K TVs and I'm just not sure I trust the judgement of everything looks fine so I thought I'd ask here how much of a difference the upscaling of 1080p on a Sony 4K actually is vs a native 1080p set. The x900e is the only 4K set I've found that seems to do integer scaling but that is nowhere to be found. I'm unlikely to go up to 4K equipment anytime soon so I've settled on either this Sony 1080p set or a second hand Pioneer Kuro.

Thoughts?
