Undumped Irem m82 board

I bought this Irem board, which I’ve bought on ebay, and found out that this board hasn’t been dumped on mame yet. The person I bought the board from use to work for the irem us district during the time in Seattle and would test up and coming games. If any one can give me any tips on how I can dump the board and what to buy, that would be cool. The board I have is an Air duel, but it seems the board has the “Irem American Corp” at the title screen. I notice system11 found a world version.

I'd personally try not to touch the board at all unless you know what you're doing and have a great deal of experience.
It would be better to just send it to someone near you from the MAME team with the tools necessary to make a proper dump.

For how much I got the board for was crazy because I spent more for an r type 2 conversion board then the air duel. Also, I’m getting the board today.

He has a hammer in Harry board up for sale and a couple other non irem boards. I did get the board today if anyone wants to see some pictures of it, also I message him about if he had other irem products and yet to respond.

The guy only sold it for 215 with amazing shipping. Also, I luckily got some 91 percent alcohol at walmart so I can clean up the board from the years of not being cleaned.

I finished cleaning the board, which is in great condition, and the only problems on the board is a little rust on a ram chip and a capacitor that is loose with a little leakage on the bottom, which didn’t touch the board yet.

Not related to this thread but I some how got my self a under cover cops alpha renewal board with the original EPROMs and luckily got my self a manual from eBay. I have no clue why I’m finding these ultra rare irem boards

After looking at the board it seems to be a Korean board that still has the roms and nothing to go too home about, but still a cool find. If I can find myself a us undercover cops board I can always convert the Roms since it was originally a conversion

Has anyone been in contact with you about getting the Air Duel dumped yet? It does need to be.

Haven’t tried to contact anyone do to being busy with work and if you know a good dumper near me that would be cool too know.

I sent an email to the guru regarding the board and see if he can do anything about the board

He recommended that I should buy a tl866ii and dump the Roms myself which I think I can do without problems

Are the EPRROMs socketed? If they are, be very careful prying them out.

If they are soldered on the PCB, then I'd definitely ask for help from someone with very good soldering skills.

I’ve been a little late with this so here are the pictures, finally I post them, I also have close up pictures of the EPROMs if anyone wants really see them.




The bottom board has air duel written in sharpie, which I’m just gonna leave on.

PM sent - there are four soldered mask ROMs, which should be handled carefully. However, they likely match the existing Air Duel data.

There’s more on the front board, which there is 10 on the front with labels telling what the rom does.

I think the mask Roms on the board might be from another game because the EPROM sockets had some left over flux on each socket.

Also I’m getting my rom dumper pretty soon and for the mask roms I can either do it or I can send the board to the dumping union if you guys really want me to.

Is there any text left on the mask ones? I dumped the world rev Air Duel which was very similar to what you've shown here, Major Title was used as the donor and the soldered in mask on mine were just unused MT ones.

Yeah they have text written on them with a ball point pen with stuff like obj, chr, m82a, Bgm, and such. Also all the EPROMs are Nec

I got the tl866ii today and will dump the roms today or Saturday, also I will post when the roms are dumped. I also got some capacitors to recap the board.

I've got a PR put together to add support for this in MAME, but... I need to update my copy of GCC, which also necessitates upgrading to a new version of Debian, so... sit tight?!
