Hello fellow shmuppers,
I recently splurged and treated myself with a US copy of R-Type Delta.
I am trying to play it on a LG HDTV with a PS2 via component. So far, this setup has worked for all PS1 games I’ve tried, but R-Type acts up. The game boots, but in the menu it flickers and/or eventually goes dark. If I press X at the right time, I do get the screen where you create a pilot and start a game, and the game itself seems to work as well.
I’m pretty sure it’s a resolution problem. I know that my TV can display 240p because I also play a US Saturn with a Retrovision cable on it. Would the Retrovision cable for PS2 fix this, and maybe give me a better image quality as well?
Or do you guys have any other ideas that do not include buying a new TV or a pricey Framemeister etc?
