MVS label too long

Post by shmupsrocks »

Are legit MVS labels sometimes slightly too long for their cutout in the cartridge, or is that a sign of a reprinted label?

I have seen them to be too long on some original carts, do you have a pic and have you checked the boards?

If you mean they curl slightly at the edges due to the lack of space, that might be normal. If it's a holo label it's almost certainly real. If the holo pattern is different that can indicate a different region cart, or sometimes just a different holo pattern was used for that game. If it's a holofree carts from the early days and late dates post 2001 then it's harder to tell, but there are still ways to tell such as looking at how the light bounces off (it's easier to tell with the blue colored labels rather than black due to the color).
