hi guys i'm currently doing my gbs 8200 project but i can't find the way of making HDMI out with a wii2hdmi adapter i follow the schematics and pinout but i don't get any image
i connect it with the second vga out port.
i Saw on internet that some guy put the wii2hdmi and works but the picture of his connections are quite foggy this is the link where i saw that
any help is good !

GBS 8200 WITH WII2HDMI ADAPTER
Re: GBS 8200 WITH WII2HDMI ADAPTER
Here is a Wii2HDMI pinout I found online, not sure if it's accurate:
You'd need to have an audio input jack somewhere, connected to audio left, right and ground respectively. Then you'll need to hook up 5V and GND from the GBS (can piggyback the 5V input I assume).
So I haven't used this setup but looking at the video inputs, there are only 3 and Wii outputs component. This means you will wire up the R, G, B VGA outputs as shown but you need to set the GBS Control to output COMPONENT in order to get a picture.

Re: GBS 8200 WITH WII2HDMI ADAPTER
I tried this. Tested the wii2hdmi before starting to mod things and it worked well. The one i used was a simple pass-thru model, no scaling on the output. Wired it up to the 12p output next to the vga out, and set output to component in gbs web UI. Note you also need an additional mod of an additional resistor on one of the tvia pins, to get component output levels correct...youll have to dig through the thread to find it, its not well documented. The ouptut from the final mod was not great. Washed out image, noticebale interference, soft edges.
Rama had said that component output is still beta (I'm paraphrasing), although I have used component output for certain capturing applications and found it to be every bit as good as vga.
All that said, i came to the conclusion that others had already been encouraging when i was trying this - better to use a vga to hdmi adapter.
A new video of mvs testing with gbs just hit youtube. Theres a link in the description to the vga to hdmi adapter used for the video: https://youtu.be/qPbtDr5lf7U

Re: GBS 8200 WITH WII2HDMI ADAPTER
Yep, go with a $5 VGA to HDMI dongle. This is the quickest, easiest, and best working solution.

If you must use the Wii2HDMI, then the GBS needs a resistor value changed, and many advanced features won't work correctly.
