There are plenty of 100Hz CRTs available here in Europe that have RGB on Scart.
In the US, there are a lot of people that do an RGB OSD mod to add RGB capability to their 50Hz CRT televisions.
I was wondering if this same mod would be useful on a 100Hz European CRT just for having a bypass
of the 100Hz digital processing circuitry?
That way, you would have RGB on Scart that goes through 100Hz processing,
and an additional RGB input that feeds the jungle IC OSD chip, and bypasses the 100Hz processing?
Does this make any sense? Is the OSD RGB 100Hz or 50Hz?
I am no expert at all.
Looking for any advise on this topic.
Regards,
Christian
Can you convert a 100Hz CRT into 50Hz using an RGB OSD mod?

Re: Can you convert a 100Hz CRT into 50Hz using an RGB OSD m
I was thinking about something similar myself, but for progressive 480p signals.
I poked around a bit in a service manual of a known 100Hz Sony Chassis and discovered that, interestingly, the scandoubler chip outputs YUV at some point I did not pursue this further and hadn't looked at anything sync related yet, I just thought that was interesting.
To answer your question: I don't think that the later 100Hz TVs had an equivalent of a Jungle Chip anymore. At least not the Sonys anyway.
