CRT TRINITRON - add s-video when only composite/component

Post by mrwasi »

Hi. I recently got a Trinitron with composite/component but no s-video. Is there any way to add s-video other than getting an av receiver for it?

I asked this question a few months back, you can search for it.

A few people theorized that the "ID" section of the service menu might make the TV think it is a different model, which could open the ability to switch to an s-video input, given you solder an s-video connector to the correct pins on the input chip.

I don't think anybody's tried it though, but if you take all the proper precautions and do your homework, it could be worth trying yourself.

I forgot to mention. I suck at soldering. Just ask my 360 that I Frankensteined to the grave
