Wireless GameCube – Game Boy cable possible in theory?

So I was thinking about how the GBA can be used as a controller with the Game Boy player when using the GameCube – Game Boy Advance link cable and a thought popped into my head. Would it be possible to make a wireless version if you used something similar to a WaveBird receiver and the Game Boy Advance Wireless Adapter?

It might be a little complicated to relay the GBA wirelessly, especially if it's as timing-sensitive as the original Game Boy.

However, thanks to Woozle, you can use a GBA as a wireless SNES controller.
