I have in the past cleaned the circuit boards and capacitors inside my CRTs with q-tips that were lightly dampened with distilled water. I unplugged the CRT first before doing this. I would then let the boards and capacitors dry for a while. I have done this twice and my CRTs still worked fine after doing this.
Is it a bad idea to clean the components inside a CRT with q-tips and distilled water?
