Hello everybody,
I'am new of the Shmups Forum, it's my first thread.
I recently buy a Irem Bomberman on Ebay.
The PCB have some capacitor Leak arround the audio part ( classic issue it's seems ), so I desolder, Clean with alcool, re-cap and install a new MB3730A ( the previous one seems to be too old and full of corrosion ).
The I change the Following with new Elna Audio Grade capacitors ( same value ) :
470uf / 25v : C203
220uf / 10v : C201
100uf / 25v : C210
47uf / 16v : C209
22uf / 25v : C205
1 uf / 50v : C202 C214 C216
154J / 250V C208 C207 C206
I notive a minor change regarding the article from the Shmups Blog on the C205 / C201, I don't know if it normal or not.
Now I have the sound but very weak and low also the heat sink is very very hot.
Did somebody had this kind of troubles with some IREM M97/M99 ?
Cheers,
Fabien
IREM M99 : BOMBERMAN - Sound Issue
Re: IREM M99 : BOMBERMAN - Sound Issue
Hello,
For information :
I send the PCB to : https://www.arcadiabay.de and they fix it.
Here the report.
The problem was a faulty vias, so a filter capacitor was not connected anymore which caused the amplifier to oszillate and destroyed it.
Unfortunately the new 3730 was already defective again, we replaced it and repaired the filter circuit, now everything works fine.
