RGB Mod on a Sony PVM-9L1: good idea or bad idea?

Post by retro-pc_user »

I've been watching a fellow YouTuber's video about modding a consumer CRT with an RGB mod for certain consoles, especially the C128 that uses the 80-column mode, and it looks amazing. However, I want to figure out if there's a way I can make my Sony PVM-9L1 to mod it with RGB in/out with the Composite BNC as the Sync or a separate Sync (the composite BNC needs to be replaced as that hasn't worked in years, but, the Y/C or s-video works), or would that be impossible?

The reason why is because I'd like to play SNES games with the cable I have for my SNES from HD Retrovision, but, I have no idea if it's possible or not.

I do like the S-video, but, my SNES only works on my mom's Polaroid 24" HDTV, not on any other TV set in my house. Also, my C64 looks crisp on the PVM-9L1 using the homemade s-video cable I made with noise reduction and a 330Ohm resistor for the chroma signal for modern TV sets.
