Post by Coffygrinder »

I am trying to us my PS3 on my BVM A20F1U using HDMI to HD SDI. I can not get a picture. Any suggestions?

Make sure it's set to 720p.

Is the PS3 set to 1080p? If so, this BVM can't do 1080p.

You need a HDMI to HD-SDI converter that ignores HDCP. There are certainly some that will do this, but units like those from Blackmagic won't ignore it.

I think I do have a black magic. It’s weird that a Xbox will run but not a ps3. Let me get a new box and see if that helps.

the PS3 has analog out - just grab a component cable and run that to the BVM

or is that one of those monitors that can't accept analog inputs without the vaporware input card?

It is, it's not vaporware though as it exist and people have it, it's just that it only cost 3.5k if you want one.

I don't think the 360 uses HDCP for games.

Some cheap HDMI splitters will remove HDCP, don't know if there are any downsides though (like lag or something - don't see why there would be).

So I unplugged the power from the hdmi splitter, unplugged all the hdmi cables from the splitter. Retattech them powered back up the splitter and it works perfect.

I think the splitter box has to have the hdmi cables in before powering on.
