Lightgun games and reclocked sync

Post by Syntax »

Various different switches such as GScart and Extron reclock sync.

I was wondering if when playing light gun games whether it's best to plug in the gun sync before or after the reclock.

Or does it not matter?

I assume you are talking about the Namco Guncon which tap off the composite video signal for the sync signal?

In my case the RGBS signal goes through a gscartsw and an Extron crosspoint ultra before reaching my Sony BVM-D32. I connect the Guncon's video lead to the composite video directly out of the PSX. The Guncon works perfectly with this setup.

I personally use an Extron Crosspoint switch with RGBs on most stuff. I just use an additional output to on the switch send csync to the GunCon and that worked fine for me.
