JVC BM-H2000PN-K Adjusting Picture Horizontally?

Post by lettuce »

I have just gotten a JVC BM-H2000PN-K monitor and have entered the geometry menu and adjusted the screen as far right as it will go but there is still about a 3/4 inch border on the side of the screen, is there anyway to adjust this further to the right than what the OSD menus allow?

Also i have to had the contrast nob turned up to almost make to get a bright vivid picture is there anyway to adjust this further on the mainboard inside?

Is the geometry fine otherwise? I haven't owned this exact model, but nearly every single other professional JVC monitor I've owned (from BNIB mid-2000's, all the way back to late 80's), probably 10+ of them, have nearly never let me go completely full left-to-right with the picture for some reason. That's one of the largest reasons why I don't own any JVC monitors anymore (ok, I have a small 14" I kept because it's very retro and cool looking ;)

I ask if the geometry is fine otherwise because I've never had it as bad as 3/4" (always just a couple mm's - enough to drive me a little crazy...and I swear I'm not OCD! lol) so maybe a cap is worn and not giving it's full value and not letting the image go as far enough over as you would like it? Also make sure underscan isn't turned on. There might also be a couple other hidden sub-menus (i.e. not quite service menu level, but "quick menus" I like to call them which can let you tweak things just a little bit more on some of these - I forget if it was H size though, might have only been centering).

Yeah everything else is more or less spot on.

How do you get to the other menus then, theres obviously the main menu and then the menu when you hold down enter button and press the menu button but i dont know of any other menus??

I have just adjusted the switch on the sync input on the rear of the monitor it was on '75 ‎Ω' and changed it to 'Open', that did shift the picture over more to the right but theres still about 5 or so cms. Was just wondering if there was a adjustment pot on one of the boards inside the monitor to shift it over even more?

Does anyone have an experience with these monitors on weather there is a pot on the main board that could be adjusted to shift the screen further to the right?, would adding magnetic strips to the rear of the tube help in this instance at all?

Is there a forum that specialises in these broadcast monitors at all that might have more experience with this type of thing that anyone could suggest?

Have found information that there is a secret service menu, holding 'Enter' and pressing 'Degauss' displays an 'S' on the screen with 'Enter' still being pressed push 'Menu' brings you into the secret menu where you have more control over geometry settings. In this menu i can move the screen over to the right even more :D

Awesome thanks for this I have the BM-H1400PN-K / H1300SU, managed to find a manual for the 20 inch panasonic version (same monitor just panasonic branded) which explains the service menu settings, have got the image filling the screen nicely now. Page 20 here explains the settings for adjusting the video size/position https://archive.org/details/PanasonicBT ... 5/mode/2up
