Question About Taito F3 System and Regions/Compatibility

Post by telecommand »

Hi all. I recently bought a Jaleco Pony Mark II 28 cabinet from Japan and I would like to buy a Darius Gaiden PCB.

Do I need to worry about regions or should a PCB from anywhere work? I saw one which just said "Asia" on it - will this work on a Japanese machine or should it specifically say "Japan"?

Thanks!

You can just remove the plastic grubs from the motherboard with some needle nose pliers and you'll make it region free and you'll be fine

Is there a "safe" way to do this? I don't know if I trust myself enough to not ruin a pin or two with a soldering iron...

It is actually very easy to do.

The hardest part is finding the Darius cartridge
(or buy a F3 multi cartridge)

Oh wow that's far easier than I'd read elsewhere. Thanks!
