Was this a failed attempt to upgrade the firmware, or what exactly were you doing when this occurred?

If it was a firmware upgrade, I have read that simply retrying it will fix it (may take more than one retry).

Does it boot?

Have you tried a different power supply? These things do all sorts of weird things when the power supply is failing, while appearing to still be working.

Have you tried contacting Anchor Bay? They actually do respond...most of the time.

Some possibly useful advice here: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/37-video ... pdate.html

If it's a simple cable/adapter this might be your problem, those don't work.

You need an adapter with FTDI chipset and drivers, like the Digitus DA-70156 or Ugreen CR107

Not 100% sure this will fix your specific error, but yeah straight usb>serial adapters or cables don't work indeed.

You reminded me of this thread here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=60812

But it's sold out? And according to this: https://camelcamelcamel.com/DVDO-Univer ... B009LQYPSM It's been sold out since February.

So how and where did you get it? Is it an official Sinpro one or is it a third party?

They "original" ones weren't good by any standard. Most of them failed by now. You can get a matching one (6V, 7A to cover even the 50pro) for $15 shipped via AliExpress.

I don't know, this one hasn't been tested, but it might work if it's really what it says it is...

Wow, at 80-120 the unit you would think they would be more reliable/higher quality than that.
