XBR CRT's - possible to check hours in service menu?

XBR CRT's - possible to check hours in service menu?
Local guy says he has a 34XBR960 with under 300 hours on it. Worked for Sony, etc etc. Supposed to meet tomorrow morning for pickup and I'm wondering if there's any way to verify his claims.
