ps2 usbExtreme

Post by fl0w »

Hello fellow shmuppers,

has anybody had the chance to try the usbExtreme for PS2 ?
this looks like an excellent alternative to swap magic to play import games (on my forthcoming PAL PStwo)

it's even better as it can help save the poor lens of the PStwo

but apparently it's not compatible with all games! Can anyone confirm this ?

also i wonder if i can read from and write to the HD if i plug it in my PC ?
Thanks.

The compatability lists for the usb based HD stuff is horrible. The compatability grid at ps2hd.com has 96.5% in the 'incompatible' column for USB. There's another list at ps2-scene and the number of games listed as 'plays flawlessly' is painfully low. All the others have at least some issues, slow FMV, random lockups, failed boots etc.

Yeah. Better go with brick-style PS2 and IDE HDD. Though that one has its incompatible games all right.
Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.
