I can't give numbers, but way more than we expected.
System sold more than the stock, we couldn't stop it. Probably everyone were waiting to buy one, and at the same time they clicked. Sorry again for our crap system... But I promise that everyone will get one from the next batch.
We cancelled the orders manually after the end of our limit. First come first served.

Have the cancellations already been notified? In other words, are we safe if we haven't gotten a cancellation notice yet?

Yes, we notified all the cancelled ones. If you didn't receive any email then you are fine.

It takes a lot of time to build one like a tailor made. The second batch can be ready until July. We are thinking of collecting preorders without taking payments. I still don't understand how the payment system could do that, outsold that much. It's out of our control. It didn't happen before.

We will also build CMVS too...

Perhaps doing the OSSC way will be better by giving numbers to each order and as soon as it's ready collect the payment.

What are you doing with the pcbs that you cannot fix?

Looks like things might have to go in the Analogue NT Mini direction to meet demand. Salvaging Game Gear parts and hand-soldering everything can only go so far and it seems like there's a huge demand for this! Hopefully it's a possibility in the future.

I'm looking into a couple interesting mods at the moment, one is the McWill screen, obviously this gives you RGB out, another is a mod board that allows you to attach a Megadrive controller. While not quite as cool as a totally consolized Gamegear, it should come close. Just depends how much of a hassle it is to fit.

They are thrown to the bin... 1/3 of the pcbs we've received had acid leak(capacitor) which damaged the traces and shorted the circuits.

Next version of the Consolized Game Gear will have the 2 player MD/Genesis controller support, so Start button can be used from the controller, this is one of the reasons of the delay. It will also come bundled with an adapter for composite and RCA audio outputs. This can be an optional purchase too. We are still considering of keeping the link board, first ones had them removed.

You should stop throwing them in the bin and send them my way.
Put them aside for me if that's ok. When you have a few I'll grab them for a play.

Do you upgrade or change the power supply board on the consoles?
I worry when there's extra strain on the system like rapid fire, tv blanking and the ggtv board.

We keep them for spare parts. If you pay the shipping I can send them for free. Original power boards are used, only caps are replaced.
As we are very busy with the other projects, it's difficult to give a date for it.

Happy to pay shipping. I know how annoying fixing them can be but when I'm bored or have spare time I'll rebuild the traces. Hate seeing stuff go to waste.
No rush and thanks :)

Sorry in advance for the 'hi, I just got out of my rock' kind of question... :)

I just caught up with all the recent posts here (I don't really use Facebook that much), so I'd like to know, what's the current situation with the project? As in, is it possible to place a preorder now, or is there a line/mailing list to enter?

Thanks guys!

As a Facebook Luddite I was curious about this too. I was one of the people who had their payment refunded due to the over selling. Will I be contacted when more are available? Thanks!

Yes, you are in the list. However the list is too long, next week we will deliver few units more.
